*Burn Ban Lifted for the City of Loris*
05/04/2026: Following improved weather conditions, the statewide burn ban initiated by the South Carolina Forestry Commission on April 17, 2026, was lifted effective Friday, May 1, 2026. As such, Loris Fire Chief Jerry Hardee has also lifted the burn ban implemented for the corporate limits of the City of Loris. Even with the recent rain and the expectation of additional rainfall, state and local officials urge citizens to remain vigilant while burning outdoors as drought conditions persist.
