*Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazards Mitigation Plan – 30-Day Comment Period Now Open*
Horry County Emergency Management is seeking public comment on the 2025 draft of the Horry County Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. This plan has been drafted in conjunction with all participating municipalities and utility providers throughout the county.
Every five years, Horry County updates its Hazard Mitigation Plan – a roadmap to help reduce the impact of disasters like hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and severe storms.
The plan was created in partnership via the Mitigation Task Force. HCEMD worked with many partners across the local and regional spectrum to develop it. It helps Horry County and participating jurisdictions stay eligible for federal disaster relief and grants that strengthen our communities.
The public is invited to read the draft plan and provide comments until August 30, 2025. At the links below, you will find the draft plan, a StoryMap with background information on the plan update, and the community survey and comment form.
