⭐️ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ⭐️
Sewer Crew Leader Sean Bennett
Sean Bennett, living in Marion with his lovely wife and son, has been with the City of Loris for 13 years.
Bennett started his career with the Street Department 13 years ago and transferred over to the Water and Sewer Department 2 years later.
Bennett is currently our Sewer Crew Leader. Bennett oversees new sewer taps, sewer breaks and backups, maintains and repairs pump stations and grinder pumps, and assists with major water breaks when needed.
Bennett enjoys working hands on out in the field. He’s the first one to answer a call when needed.
On his downtime Bennett enjoys hunting and fishing. ????
“I love my job and I love working hands on. My future goal is to educate citizens on ways to help eliminate issues within the sewer system.”

July 2019 Week 3:
⭐️ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ⭐️
???? Heavy Equipment Operator Harrison “Dog” Ravenell Sr. ????
With his family living in the Burkley/Orangeburg County area, Harrison Ravenell moved to our great City of Loris in 1954.
Many of you may know Ravenell for his famous jam box golf-cart often seen out and about. ????
Ravenell started his career as a heavy equipment operator 47 years ago and joined the City of Loris around 1992. After retiring in 2013 Ravenell decided his work wasn’t done and came back to work for the City in 2015. With his lengthy time as an HEO, Ravenell says he can operate any piece of equipment! WOW! Impressive!????????
Ravenell is currently the master backhoe operator for the City. He can been seen often cleaning and clearing out ditches and ditch banks to improve our storm water drainage system throughout the City. When needed, he also assists with major water and sewer repairs. ????
Ravenell enjoys his job and finds peace working alone listening to music while enjoying nature.????????
“It makes me feel good knowing that my work makes the citizens of Loris happy. My goal is to continue on and help make the City a better place for all of the people that live here.”

July 2019 Week 2:
⭐️ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ⭐️
???? Detective E. Stevens ????
From a childhood dream of becoming a Police Officer to today’s career as Detective for the City of Loris Police Department:
Eric Stevens, born on July 14th grew up in our very own City of Loris, graduating from Loris high school in 2006. ????
Detective Stevens started his career as a road officer with the Loris Police department in April 2008. ????
Throughout the last 11 years, Detective Stevens has been promoted from road officer to Corporal in 2017 and Sergeant/Detective in 2018. ????
In his time with the Loris Police department, Detective Stevens has gone through extensive training and received several certifications in the following areas: background investigations, suicide bombing response, homicide investigation and crime scene management, a two week basic detective course, elder victimization response, mid-level management, interview and interrogation training, a course in criminal investigations and public safety and media relations training just to name a few.
Detective Stevens has been nominated for the Community Law Enforcement Appreciation award. ????
Detective Stevens currently resides in the Allsbrook area of Loris with his fiancé and their children.
Stevens:
“I would like to express my gratitude to retired Police Chief Karen Shephard, who gave me a shot at my dream. Over the last few years our Police Department has progressed in a positive direction and I hope to see that continue throughout the future. My goal is to make a difference in the community by helping others and keeping our city safe.”
